Water, Biosphere and Climate Change

Interinstitutional Postgraduate Program WATER, BIOSPHERE AND CLIMATE CHANGE

Water is a natural resource that is inextricably linked to the very presence of man on earth, since his first appearance on the planet. The object of this master's program is to provide knowledge related to the interaction of humans, living beings, abiotic factors and water from an ecological, technical, political, economic and biological point of view, under the intensifying conditions of climate change. An additional object is to conduct research related to the aforementioned interactions.
The master's program "Water, Biosphere and Climate Change" (Government Gazette 3019/9-7-2021 vol. B), is considered an innovative and unique program of its kind at the global level, given that it is the only one of its kind that approaches the issue of water as a natural resource on earth in a holistic approach, regardless of whether it is in excess, sufficiency or scarcity.
This master's program is offered by the Department of Geology and Geoenvironment of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), by the Department of Forestry and Natural Environment of the  International Hellenic University (IHU) and by the UNESCO Chair Con-E-Ect  "Protection and conservation in Riparian and Delta Ecosystems and development of Ecotourism" based at the International University of Greece - Kavala Campus.
